CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD

This is a program for preschoolers and five and six year olds, to guide them to a meaningful celebration of the Word of God.

At the 9:30 AM Mass on Sundays after the Introductory Rites, the children are sent to their assigned areas for the Liturgy of the Word which will be explained to them by parents. They will return to the church for the Liturgy of the Eucharist.

Teams of parents  prepare together the classes in which they take turns. Several resources are used such as Pflaum Gospel, Weeklies, Children’s Lectionary, etc. to help convey the message. All parents are
welcome to be in the teams.

LAY CANOSSIANS

On Saturday, September 17th, at our 5:00 PM Mass, we will be celebrating three of our own parishioners and a parishioner of St. Stephen Church, who took their “First Promise” as Lay Canossians. The Lay Canossians, Tertiaries, is another branch who have as their Foundress, St. Magdalene of Canossa, the same Foundress of our Canossian Sisters at St. Brendan Church and Holy Name of Jesus Church.

The mission of the Lay Canossians is that of living the Canossian Spirituality, which they received as a gift, in the reality in which they live.

Let us congratulate the following new “Lay Canossians”:

     LUCILLE KOVASH
     MARILU ILLENBERGER
     LOURDES SCHEERER
     GENILIN WONG

We currently have an additional five more people who are in their “initial formation”. With these four new Lay Canossians , along with those of Holy Name of Jesus Parish, we have 30 to 35 active Lay Canossians in the San Francisco Bay Area.

If you or someone you know feels God is calling you to be “contemplative - in - action” you may contact Angela Testani, Lay Canossian Formator , at (415) 586-5754.
