St. Vincent de Paul Holiday
Food Drive

In addition to clothing, toiletries, and small household items, the SVDP Help Desk provides food to its clients.

Their pantry has become increasingly bare.

Barrels will be located in the back of the church throughout the Holiday season to receive your contributions of non-perishable items. Canned meats, vegetables, fruit, and tuna; soups, and peanut butter would be especially appreciated.

St. Vincent de Paul Advent Giving Tree

This year’s Giving Tree will be decorated on November 30. Ornaments can be taken that weekend and the weekend of December 7-8.

Because Christmas falls on a Wednesday this year, gifts will need to be returned the weekend of December 14-15.

Please remember to attach the ornament  to your gift so that they can be distributed properly.

This year’s recipients will include the SVDP Multi-Service Center Shelter, Laguna Honda Hospital, The SVDP Wellness Center, San Francisco Adult Day Support (a Catholic Charities Program for Seniors with dementia and/or Alzheimer’s),  and the Epiphany Center (Mt. St. Joseph’s/St. Elizabeth’s (young mothers and their babies).

Members of the Marian Servers would like to visit more of our homebound parishioners to bring them the Eucharist and spend a few minutes to bring Christ to them. They may also want a copy of the parish bulletin and make them feel that they are valued members of our parish community.                                  KINDERGARTEN TOURS
Tours for prospective kindergarten parents of St. Brendan School are now being held. Reservations for the tours must be made in advance by calling 415 731 2665.

St. Brendan School has started accepting applications for the 2014-2015 kindergarten class. Applications may be picked up from the school office, or are available on-line at www.stbrendansf.com. The last day for  accepting applications is December 11, 2013. Children must be five years old by September 1, 2014.

DROP IN CARE FOR SENIORS
NOW AVAILABLE AT SAN FRANCISCO ADULT DAY SERVICES

Catholic Charities CYO San Francisco Adult Day Services is excited to announce that drop-in care for seniors is now available. After completing a pre-admittance assessment, caregivers may drop their loved one at the facility on an as-needed basis.

Services include, but are not limited to, social, therapeutic, and educational sessions, snacks, lunch, exercise classes, and counseling/referrals for those who care for loved ones with dementia/Alzheimer’s.

Please call (415) 452-3500 for more information or to arrange a pre-admittance assessment.

San Francisco Adult Day Services are provided for a fee, with a sliding scale available, based on the ability to pay.

St. Vincent de Paul Clothing Drive, November 2 and 3

Each fall St. Brendan parishioners have generously donated clothing to be distributed to the needy by the SVDP Help Desk.

All types of men’s clothing are always in great demand. This year these are the items they need:
            Men’s Pants (size 30-36)
            Men’s long-sleeve shirts
            Men’s shoes are especially needed

The Help Desk is also requesting for the
following items (in good condition):
            Blankets
            Towels
            linens

The only new items being requested are :
white t-shirts ( M, L, XL, XXL)
Bins will be available the back of the Church to receive your donations.
